Leaving town

I was busy yesterday.... First I added 2 zippers and mesh in Stephen's motorcycle pants, so he could "feel the breeze..." then I fixed a bag for a friend, then I made this and it makes me happy.... a knitting needle roll, Oh how I love the fabric....and with the scraps a small bag for a small project on the go....

I am hoping to pick up some more of the same fabric to make a larger bag.... but that will have to wait until we get back. The hubby and I are headed to Vegas tomorrow until Sunday, yes Sunday! 6 days without my babies, will I make it? I need a break, but 6 days???? We are going to be riding bikes Thursday-Saturday, then the Motocross on Saturday and driving home with the rest of his brothers on Sunday. Wednesday it's just me and Stephen and the city of Vegas....
I am gonna miss these munchkins. Look at Pais's cute vintage cardigan! I say vintage because well, it looks old. I can't remember where I found it? Yes, he likes to run around naked now. But I am gonna miss those squishy little cheeks....
And these cheeks too.

Palouse Falls picnic

Stephen planned on us going on a picnic today, we had to drive an hour and a half to get there, but it was a lot of fun. We left about noon and made it to Palouse Falls hungry and Beck ready to explore. It was quite chilly because of the wind, but we survived. We had a yummy picnic with sandwiches made of the left over chicken from an Elder's Quorum party with the church last night, lots of strawberries, crackers and cheese, complete with Capri Suns and Mountain Dew. :)

Paisley was having so much fun riding on Stephen's shoulders and pulling his hair. Stephen got his hair cut, can you tell? And on a wonderful side note; I finished painting my room! After I finished decluttering my house I knew that I couldn't put off painting my room any longer and I just attacked it. I really like how the grey color turned out and I love the darker against the light color on the one wall with the over hang.

Now it's on to all those sewing projects that have been sitting around and I also need to paint a dresser black that is going to hold all of my material in the dining room....

OH! And this is post #300, so the winner of the altoid tin is....... Alisha!!! "I want to win! Those are super cute! :)" Congrats! Can you e-mail me your address again? I know that I have sent you something before, but I didn't save your address. sarakb8@hotmail.com Gracias! On another super cute side note; here are my cute kids in their Easter get up from a week or two ago.

Walking Pictures, birthdays, and vroom vrooms

Don't forget to enter my giveaway here....Out in Othello Beck got to ride his Daddy's Vroom Vroom with his new helmet that he likes because it has blue on it.

Paisley loving her daddy...

For Jacksen's birthday we all met in Othello and went and visited the cemetery. Miss you buddy. We had most of the family there. Beck got way upset when we let his balloon go. Bobby T, another cousin, is also buried next to Jacksen. Finally! Pictures of Paisley walking and a video at the end. Please excuse the mess, I am painting my room. I have finally finished attacking my house and decluttering it. IT took me 3 days and I kicked up a BUNCH of dust and gathered 1/4 of a garage full of stuff to yard sale. Much to my sister's dismay I did not take down one picture, I just rearranged them. It looks better, but my house still has a lot of stuff in it. But I am finally painting my room, so that makes me happy. Now all I need to do is finish that and move on to the pile of sewing projects that I keep putting off. Stephen wants me to sew vents into his motorcycle pants. Hmmm.... this outta be interesting...

Walking!!!

I have been "decluttering" my house today which is a lost cause in itself because Stephen didn't even notice anything was missing and Pais started walking!!! I was moving a hope chest into our closet (and then back out again) and she took 8 steps following me! and the worst part? I CAN'T FIND MY CAMERA!!! I got a little of it on video when Stephen got home, but of all the days that I misplace my camera, dang it! We then went to dinner at a great yummy place called Tsunami Sushi (I ate chicken) and while waiting for our table she was taking a bunch of steps all around. My baby girl is growing up....

Shadow

Beck has seen it before, but I am going to say that this time it really clicked. He was walking down the stairs and he stopped in front of the window heading into the kitchen. He starts yelling at me, "wow, I'm big!" over and over and I was like, yep, you are, now come and eat. But he was like, "no, mom, look I am soooo big!" Pointing at his shadow, so cute if you ask me.
Click here to enter my giveaway... 3 more posts to go and at the rate I have been going yesterday and today, I could be at 300 by tomorrow!

Baby Boy Quilt

I got paid to make a quilt, yep, you heard me, paid! I know why people open up their own businesses, they get to get paid for doing what they love. I got this material last night from the person who wanted this quilt made;, adorable if you ask me, and stayed up way too late (3 AM!!) putting it all together, I took it apart a few times, but finally just settled on something (at one point it looked like it has German Swastikas in it! Yikes!) and then put it away when all I had left to do was hand stitch the binding onto the back and wash it. The client aka friend was leaving town today and I really wanted her to have it in her hands as she left. I also made 2 burp rags to go with it. Man, it feels good to finish a quilt, not too good to part with it, but the very generous friend made it easier to bare. :)Very busy, maybe I'll call it Chaos.
Man, I really like Spring, I had forgotten how much.

Giveaway and Piper's Bday party

Well, I am on post 295 and when I get to post 300 I am going to do a giveaway, except I decided that I am going to make an Altoid Brag tin instead of giving you a choice of what you want (mainly because I have already started the tin!) and draw a name from the comments of THIS post, but leave it open until my 300th post, make sense? so comment here on this post if you want to win! and yes, I know that the example picture of the Altoid tin is sideways, but I was too lazy to go and take a picture of the real one, I'll just say that it has blue and green on it. :)
This afternoon we went to the bowling alley for my niece, Piper's 3rd birthday party. I remember going to see her at the hospital when she was born. Beck was 2 months old and she was wearing these jaundice shades and laying under a light. We were actually at the hospital in the hallway with Kortni's 2 older girls when she was born. I love this picture of her opening this card because it is a typical Piper face.... :) Beck, Piper, and their friend Colin Carter, kind of like the 3rd round of gym rats, all born within 2 months of each other when all of their parents were involved with running the gymnastics center, AIM.
Beck loves bowling, he talks about it all the time, he only does a few frames before he heads over to the arcade like section of the bowling alley, but I really do think that we will not hear the end of it for the next few weeks.

Happy Birthday Jacksen!

I miss you! Dude, on Lost, the guy from the Darma Inititative videos is Miles' dad! Crazy, huh? and they are like together back in 1977, except that Miles is also a 3 month old baby at the time, so he is coexisting with his old baby self, weird huh? Because older Miles is still in his present, but during his past!!!!! Wow! Love you.....

Favorite Things Swap!!!

Click here if you want to participate, hurry! There are only a few spots left!

Gotta Love the Spring!

I don't know what it is about my last few posts, but I can't seem to dwindle down the pictures, I want to include them all! Here is a few of Pais and her "standing." She seems to take a step or two then give up and crawl. Don't get me wrong, I don't really want her to walk, it makes them grow up too fast! The good thing is that now Beck is potty trained and we have to rush to a public restroom when we are out and about, I can stand her up on the floor while I am helping Beck and not have to worry about her falling and crawling around on the bathroom floor. I feel that she probably has taken her "first steps," but I am in denial because none of them are captured and recorded with pictures and video, so I am waiting for when she actually walks 3-4 steps and then I will count that! (cheating, I know) But she seems to not really have an interest in it. She's got pretty strong muscles though and does lots of lunges up and down...
Yesterday, mid afternoon, Beck wanted to take a shower, I stuck him in and ran out to the hall to grab a clean towel and I came back and found that Pais didn't want to miss out and had joined him....I can already tell how girly she is, either that or her obsession with her bottle is really shining through. My poor Beck had been catching something and I was very worried, so after another rough night last night I took him in. He seems to be "ok" during the day, but at night can't sleep, coughs all night and can't really breath very well. The night before he woke up gasping and screaming and it took me quite a bit to get him calmed down. (of course all the screaming woke up Paisley) not to mention the boogers coming out of his eyes sticking them shut! So the verdict is a sinus infection and pink eye. I always associate pink eye with girls camp and dirtiness and I was like ah man, but Dr says that pink eye is just an infection, not usually viral, but yes, sometimes, and it is just his infection in his sinuses that moves over to his eye. He has been much better at taking his medicine and now his eye drops too, my baby boy is growing up. After Stephen got home from work we flew Beck's kite that he has been waiting for the "wind to blow in the trees." and you'd never know that this kid was sick, except for the red eyes of course!I have been kind of in a funk for the past few days. Tired mostly, achy, as Stephen would say, "highly irritable" and as I would say, "then quit irritating me. " But I gotta get my groove back. I feel like I have been busy, flying around, getting ahead of myself, so then I mess up with things, drop the ball, let people down, drop babies..... (yeah, true story! Yikes! sorry again to one of my dearest friends) seems like there is barely time to get the "have tos" and then I am just finished and there is no time for the "want tos." But today after getting back from the Dr and the prescriptions, and the errands, I sat outside and played with my kids, and the few minutes that I just sat there was so nice, then it was sit, dishes, sit, fold laundry, sit, internet for contacts, sit, phone calls, and all I should have done was sit...... lazy, I know, but that's all I wanted to do, but then I think, "when is the laundry gonna get done? the fettucine sauce is burning, gotta shred the chicken, where's Pais? grab the camera and take a picture of Beck." So I vow that tomorrow I am going to sit still for 20 minutes and just watch my kids play outside. I am not going to run in for a quick minute and switch the load of laundry, or run to my ringing phone, or even think of when in the crap I am going to grab a minute to knit! I am just going to sit and watch, now I will not set my sights too high, 20 minutes tops, I don't want to start getting ahead of myself again. :) Because this is why I need to just sit and watch for a few minutes, this baby girl seems like she was born yesterday...and since when did this man I met in the Singles Ward have 2 kids?
and since when did this little guy learn to pout to get me to turn the water back on?Because before I know it, the day is over and they are asleep and yes, I get my break, but I am secretly waiting for when they wake up and we get to do it all over again, well, until I need my break again that is. :

Cops and me with no brains

So yeah, I totally got pulled over the other day. I am such a ditz. I was totally not paying attention while driving home from Othello and when a cop passed me going the other way I glanced down and saw 66 mph in a 60 and I thought, "oh crap..." and sure enough around he spun and I pulled right over and reached for my license and registration. Beck was sleeping and sweet Pais was just playing in her car seat happily talking to herself. I recognized the police officer as a parent of one of the gymnastics students. He said, "what's with the speed?" and I was like," ya know, I wasn't even paying attention." He said I was going 76! Wow! That's fast, I really had no idea. I apologized profusely and he so graciously let me off, then he said, "are you Kortni's sister?" yep, that's me. He said who's dad he was and I said, "yeah, I know I picked your daughter up from school yesterday." pause, "but I promise that I wasn't speeding with her in my car!" "hhmmmm...." Then he asked if I had noticed that my license plates were expired? What@!#!?? I know that I had put the sticker on, but then I remembered that that was on my old red car, not the Impala that used to be Stephen's, so I am blaming it all on Stephen. Then I dug through the jockey box and found the new stickers and asked if those were it and he said yeah and have a nice day. Whew! (Story doesn't end here) He drive off and I decided to put the sticker on the license plate right then and there before it was forgotten about again. So I hopped out and reached down to put the sticker on the back plate and noticed that my car was moving! Yep, in all the excitement, I had never put it in park, so I hauled my little fanny up to the driver's door and threw it open and in park. (this in on Highway 17 mind you! AHHH!!) Pais still smiling and Beck was still sleeping, and my heart was POUNDING! And yes,I still got out again and put the new sticker on.....

Easter and Other Random things...

I got a new camera and have taken tons of pictures trying to figure out all the settings, light, and blah, blah, blahs of it and it turns out I actually like it quite a bit. A friend was letting me borrow her drool worthy one until I could decide, but then I went ahead and ordered this Sony CyberShot H10 and was taking pictures with both comparing them. (Although they really can't be compared, it's not fair to the H10) but anyways, a bunch of pictures taken at Pais's party were taken in the wrong ration blah blah, so they were crappy and I was upset, so I was all set to take the CyberShot back, but then I got to working with it and the little thing ain't half bad, so here are some memories and shots taken from the last little bit...This is Beck and one of his favorite people, Piper, his cousin. Yes, she is younger and taller than him, we don't bring it up. :)Shield your eyes young ladies for the next pic...Because this is Beck and one of his other favorite people, Ashton, another cousin. Ashton is showing Beck how to pee outside..... I can see in the future Ashton's mom, Tiff, and I being called down to the police station in 13-14 years for our sons peeing on the side of the road, they think it's great....Thanks to Aunt Tiffanni, Pais got her very first sucker and was very upset when we took the stick away at the end. Last night we went and saw the play Beauty and the Beast that the LDS church (yes, my Mormon church) put on. It was very good. Our niece, Hanna, was in the play and I got to do the cartwheeling carpets' hair (she was a cartwheeling carpet) We also had other friends that were in the play. Our kids did great and we stayed through the whole thing. Beck kept asking lots of questions,' "why is he singing?" "why is she dancing?" "is that a bad guy?" He would also cover his eyes when the beast came out on stage. (The cartwheeling carpets are pictured below)Before we head to church on Easter Sunday I always make us late because I insist on taking a picture. My Mom made Pais this blanket a little bit ago and I was so excited that I hadn't realized that it matched their Easter outfits. Beck was happy his vest was blue, but man, he fought me on those socks! Do my teeth look whiter?Beck found some bunny tracks when we got home from church. And Pais found some chocolate. After our egg hunt at our house we dyed eggs to take out to the family Easter party in Othello at Grandma Ann's and Bobby Boy's.It was rather chilly, so Stephen stood back at the house with Paisley.Oh, wow, it was over real quick and there was candy galore! Not to be outdone, Josh and Paisley shared a birthday cake and we didn't even finish half the cake we were all so stuffed with yummy Easter dinner and candy.Josh wanted me to stuff cake in his face, so who could say no? And that lovely man of mine couldn't let me get away with it. Both our kids started crying, I guess it's good that they've never seen mom and dad beat up on each other before. :)
Pais just hanging out with a few of her gifts ignoring the chaos around her. Happy Birthday again Paisley, we love you, and Happy Easter!!!
