Passport Day from HE double hockey sticks....

You know how important communication is between a husband and wife? Or any relationship for that matter. Well, Stephen and I had one of those days today. I was really excited about today because I was going to get my hair done. The plan was for me to go to my sister's so she could take her daughter Piper for a hair cut and then she'd come back and we'd switch. (Although Paisley was coming with me) So I was supposed to be at Kortni's by 9:30 AM. I was so excited because at 9:15 I was ready and headed out the door with 2 kids ready as well in tow. And then Paisley decided to wake up and present her lungs to the world and announce her hunger. As I was feeding her watching the clock Stephen announces to me that I needed to call the birth certificate lady and if the certificate is done go to the office and order 2, so that we can get to Ephrata by 3 to order Paisley's passport. So I sadly call the lady as my realization hits that my hair appointment has become 2nd priority. It takes the lady a bit to remember who I am even though I've talked to her like 3 times in the past week, but she announces that they are ready, but I can't get a passport for Paisley anyways because we can't get her social security # for 4 more weeks, but I can go over to the Health District office on Ivy street to get the birth certificates and if I go before noon there's a chance I could get them at 3. This is good and bad considering we needed to be in Ephrata (town 45 minutes away) by 3:00. So I pack up Beck and little Paisley and we head out to find Ivy Street. (By this time Stephen had got a hold of the social security office and they said that we could still apply for a passport without the number) The gal at the birth certificate place tells me that she doesn't know what the other lady is talking about and even if they have our information we can't get it for 4 weeks. I asked if she could check her computer right now (there's her and 3 more workers in the office and only me in line) she says no. Hmmm... So I put on my sweet little face and Beck starts saying, "hello," all cute and small like and she's still not budging, but I ask her to call me anyways if they can get it today. I hand her my 40 bucks and take off to Kortni's. Kortni's was pretty uneventful, we had a hair party in the bathroom with Hanna, Alizah, and Hanna's friend, Ella while Beck found every cleaning supply within a mile radius and sprayed them all over the toilet, then he moved onto the red toothpaste which he smeared with toilet paper all over the floor until I finally caught him, all the while Paisley dosing away in the sink. So her house went well besides the fact that Beck is a monster and he brings out the monster in those around him. Piper came back with her mullet whacked off sporting a cute little Suri Cruise bob, adorable!
I had to sadly cancel my hair color, there just wasn't enough time! So sad.... So we get lunch made for all the kids, Kortni and I have 5 together now! And Alizah writes on Beck's head with a red marker and he writes all over her play table with a black sharpie and spills (spreads out over everything and practically paints with )yet ANOTHER bottle of glitter glue, I tell ya, Kortni, where do you get these? I leave Beck and me and Paisley head to Wal-Mart to get her passport photo. We get there and I find out that her eyes need to be open to get the picture and then the dimensions could still be off and the passport people could deny it and send it back and then we're really screwed and there goes Mexico. So..... 2 diaper changes, pee all over the photo lab, and 45 minutes later we got a picture with her eyes open. Of course we had to wait until she stopped crying because when kids cry they tend to close their eyes, who would have thought? And to add to my sadness of my missed hair appointment Paisley's "glued" bow fell off, so she looks likes a boy in her picture! (The picture is not the actual one, it's the only left over one the Passport people gave me) So then we walked around for an hour to wait for the pics to be done and I spent 100 bucks on just "stuff" and met a way cute 80+ year old guy in line who I tried to buy his candy bar for him because that was all he was buying and he got in line behind me and I had all this stuff! He tells me, "oh, honey, you can't have my candy bar, you're going to have to get your own."And so I explain to him that I wanted to buy it FOR him, so that he didn't have to wait for all my stuff, and he says, "Oh I have all the time in the world." So we chatted for a bit and he told me that he'd buy all my groceries tomorrow. :) haha! Sweet thing... Anyways, I finally check out and it's 5 minutes to 3 and the birth certificate people call and turns out they did get them done and I head back to Ivy Street to pick them up and then go back to Kortni's to get Beck and Stephen calls and says, "have the kids loaded up and in the car waiting and when I get there we gotta go to Ephrata, they close at 4." so Paisley is in the car and I am chasing Beck because him and Piper have headed down to the creek and no one noticed except Alizah and she comes running in, "the babies are at the water!" Beck is screaming, he doesn't want to go, and Stephen pulls in honking, Kortni tells me, leave Beck and run! and we are off to the Ephrata court house. Ephrata part, long story short, they don't want to process the passport because no social #, but Paisley is so darn cute they do it anyways and 200 bucks later we sent off for an over nighted passport that may not even process due to no number. And then as we leave Stephen tells me again how much this trip is costing us......
Beck exhausted from playing with cousins and running around all day and Paisley waiting for mom to feed her after she puts away all the groceries.... OH! And today is Paisley's 1 week birthday! In exactly 27 minutes!

Oh I am feeling for you 100%!! I hate it when I'm rushed. Good luck on the passport. That drives me nuts that they are soooo picky on little babies passports. Really, we can only do so much. A friend of mine had the same problem.

How exhausting! Troy's sister actually came to our house a few Sunday's ago to have Troy take pics for their passports, they are pretty specific! What are you using to 'glue' the bows on little Paisley's head??!! I used honey with Taylor and those suckers stuck like crazy! :)

Seriously! The only thing I can say is What. A. Day. And when you're not nursing you better TAKE A NAP on the drive to Rexburg. You are at least a week overdue for one, ha!!

Wow, that was quite the day you had and with a 1 week old baby. I was still at home in my jammies one week after I have babies. Good on ya. I hope your day is less chaotic tomorrow!
