Happy Halloween!

Well, we are taking off to Idaho this morning for my nephew, Bridger's baptism tomorrow night and then we will be back late Sunday night. Happy Halloween! I'm hoping we make it, so that Beck can go Trick-or-Treating in Burley!

Ashton Family Oct and Nov Birthdays and AIM School Halloween party

Last Sunday we went out to Othello to celebrate the Oct and Nov birthday parties. Stephen's birthday was the 19th, Ruben the 27th and then Ariana and Jocelyn are in November. They decided to celebrate the girl's this month along with Ruben and Stephen because November always gets so busy with traveling and holidays sneaking up on us. Ann always cooks a great dinner and it was now in her new house! They moved in a little bit ago and it's a great place. We had cake and opened presents and the girls did their scavenger hunts that I set out for them. It's always fun to try and stump them, the older they get, the harder I make the hunts. Ann being a great grandma and Paisley loving it.Stephen and his parents, Bob and Ann. They are such great people, always having family #1 and looking out for everyone (yes, Tiff, pass on the compliment to your mom :)
Today at my preschool class we had our Halloween party. Beck is not pictured in this class photo because he hit me and I put him in the bathroom and then his Aunt Kortni came and rescued him and took him to her house for the remainder of the class. Lucky bugger. Once again he would not dress up and insisted on wearing pajamas to class, so I told him that he was dressing up as a spoiled booger. :) I really don't know what is getting into him the past 3 weeks. Just toddler hood I guess. At play group the other day he had to of hit, bit, scratched, punched, and/or sat on every kid that came over! Argh! So frustrating. And everything is "mine" and "my birthday." he is obsessed with it being his birthday and he always wants presents, that started after his little friend Roman has his birthday last month. And then Stephen's birthday and it's just been feeding into his selfish little attitude. And now he always wants us to "go away" when we make him mad or say he can't have or do something. Well, wish us luck and yes, Paisley is still as sweet as ever! :)

Gym Halloween Carnival Fundraiser

Me and my little friend Ella, Rock Stars Baby! Anyone remember Jem? I wanted to be her when I was growing up.
All of the staff and volunteers that came and helped with all the booths, yeah, we had a rock star theme.
Beck would not put his costume on. He has a dragon costume, but he wanted to wear the kitty, so Kortni brought it from her house and I drew on whiskers and after 15 minutes he was done and wanted it all off, so the pumpkin headband is as close as we got to Halloween at the carnival. This is Rock Star me and my cutie patootie pumpkin! So cute huh? Thanks to everyone that supported us! Yeah! We had lots of fun and raised some money to put towards our tumble track.

Pumpkin Patch and Pais' 1st foods

For our second field trip of the year down at AIM School we went on to a pumpkin patch. Teddy and Jerry, one of Kortni's neighbors, grow pumpkins for us and let us bring over hoards of kids to their back yard. (We usually buy small pumpkins and "transplant" them into Jerry's patch, so that there will be enough, but this year I found a company that had free ones and my friend Tammy and I went out to their patch last week and threw this HUGE pumpkins into the back of her other friends' truck and brought them here) It was freezing, but I think that the kids had a lot of fun. Hanna and Paisley. Kortni hauled Pais around for me, so that I could have here there because I wanted pictures of her in the patch really bad. Even though I missed her whole experience because I was teaching Kortni got some great pictures! I love having Beck in my class. He always wants to pick out the "baby" punkins. He had a rotten one, but I convinced him that this one was better.
This is the pumpkin that I wanted Beck to take home. There really were quite some big ones.

As mentioned before Pais too a few ounces of formula while at play group, so I decided it was time to see again, just in case as it is such a long process to pump for her in case she needed it. Beck was such a proud big brother feeding his baby sister from a bottle and she downed the whole thing. So now that formula is not a problem, sadly I decided to take it further with a biter biscuit, which was quite a process of watching Paisley trying to hang on to it. Then from there it was those little "puffs" which a friend let Pais try at church and she wanted MORE and NOW!

And then onto the butternut squash this morning. My baby is growing up and I think that I am going to go and cry now....

Beck hair twirling

I have meant to blog about this but have just realized that I missed it, so these pictures are a month old. Beck has always had this thing for hair. When I lay down next to him to cuddle he always plays with my hair. I tried to teach him to play with my hair when he was younger because I LOVE having my hair played with, but now he twirls it instead and it actually kind of hurts. He twirls it so tight that it pulls so hard and sometimes his little finger has gotten kind of stuck. When you pick him up to carry him he will grab onto the back of your hair as well. When he is trying to fall asleep in the car, in bed, or on the couch he twirls his own hair on the same spot over and over again, I am surprised that there is not a little bald spot right there. I think that it is so cute, even when he has snuck into our bed in the middle of the night and I have these little fingers groping for my head and then my hair is being pulled round and round, tightly around his little finger...

Missing

Gone missing: #19 Ashton Family Week year 2007 grey hoodie, size 2T. Pictured between #18 and #20 on kid with striped shorts on. Went to get it out of Beck's closet today and it was not there! AAHHHH!!! Seriously, reward offered.....

Remember....

that no good terrible bad day a little while back? Well, it seems to all be coming together and the IRS/government is no longer after the gym after it was all a big misunderstanding of looking at the wrong tax number, they had us confused with another company that didn't have any employees, so they thought we weren't claiming our employees, but then they looked up our correct number and all was good. And other things all seem to be settling down and my babies are growing and healthy and Beck is speaking a thousand words a day and Paisley is growing like a weed/beautiful rose....Beck is thriving in his preschool class and loves to do art projects and cut and use "goma."He is also working very hard on his "photography," and Paisley is the perfect model, always smiling.Right now he is trying to concentrate on his beading, but I keep interrupting his creativeness as he hucks handfuls of the beads across the room...
I was having some stress as I realized that I am going to have to start giving Paisley formula(Not that there's anything wrong with that; Seinfeld anyone?) as she goes to the sitter the 2 hrs Mon and Wed that I am at school. I don't have any backup milk to send with her, (although when I nurse there's plenty extra, but the pumping is the hard part) and I also tried just sending rice cereal, nursing her before I drop her off, but she is still upset when she is there. Her sitter, Tammy is an angel and is so sweet with her to cuddle her and love her, but she just wants a boobie, I guess. But while venting my frustrations at playgroup after picking her up, my friends convinced me to try again with a bottle and for the first time with formual. I was for sure that she wouldn't take formula because I had such a hard time with the bottle, and you know what that little booger did? She took 2 oz of formula like it was nothing, not even from her special bottle! Argh! Not even from me feeding it to her! I stand corrected, so as sad as I am and praying that she still needs me we will see if that will help her not be sad while I am teaching because that's the last thing that I want.

5 YEARS!

While at the cabin, Stephen and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary., October 10th. Nothing special, as you can tell, I pretty much sewed all day. We didn't even get out picture together! Argh! Not one picture of Stephen the whole weekend. I was so busy crafting that he actually took the camera and did all the snapping. He made me a wonderful, tear jerking DVD of a bunch of our pictures from the last 5 years. It was the greatest! I thought that I would post 5 random things (like my tag in the previous post) about our last 5 years together:

#1 Stephen bought his Harley the day before we met and now 5 years later in this month of our 5 year anniversary it is paid for! Yeah!

#2 Neither one of us have broken a bone or received stitches since we have been married (knock on wood)

#3 We have lived in 3 different houses and one apartment

#4 Since meeting we have saved 1,000's of pictures on our computer
#5 Stephen now separates his clothes into the whites laundry basket in our room and the colors and I now use dryer sheets. :)

Cabin

Surprisingly I didn't get my camera out a whole bunch while at the cabin this past weekend. We invited our friends Bethany and Jason Jenks and their 2 kids, but there's no proof because I didn't take any pictures of them there. Their kids did not sleep well the first night, pretty much not at all, so they took off the next day back home. We stayed until Sunday and WOW the crafting that I got done. The 2 sister-in-laws that came up as well, Tiffanni and Mary, and I all brought up our sewing machines and I made crayon wraps and bags, like 10 headband bows, and a profile project that me and Bethany did of our kids, and I worked on Paisley's quilt a little bit, and 2 onesie dresses.... I broke three needles and thought I was all sewed out, but once my needles were all out, all I wanted to do was keep sewing! :)
All the boys went on a little hike over to a waterfall and Beck had a lot of fun. He loved playing with his buddy "Romie," (Bethany's little boy) and his cousins, Josh, the Kylie's, and Ashton. WE LOVE THE CABIN!!!

My baby is sick!

So Paisley has had this runny nose/on again off again fever( no higher than 99) for like 2 weeks. I was so sure that it was teething and even if it was a cold what are they gonna do for her, she wasn't 6 months yet! So we went in for a well check up- NOW she's 6 months and low and behold I had won the Mother of the Year Award for she has an ear infection and I had no idea! Argh! She has been a little extra fussy, but she's really not fussy at all in the first place, so I thought nothing of it. Poor thing. So here's Paisley on our way to the Pharmacist for the Amoxicillin to ease her quiet suffering. By the way she's 15 lbs 5.5 oz and 25 inches long. My little squeaker is in the 25-50 percentile. And here's a picture that Beck took of Paisley receiving her first medicine (other than the occasional Tylenol) Pretty good picture taker huh? Here's Beck and his "punkin" that he decorated with my Activity Day (my church calling with the 8 and 9 year old girls in my ward) girls when they came over after school today.
I think that he liked the glue more than anything. He also made a witch, but he calls it mommy, so let's pretend that he doesn't know what it is. :)

Visits and Crafting

My Uncle Tim, Aunt Debbie, cousin Kaela and cousin Jordan came into town for a relatives' wedding anniversary dinner in St John. We were able to visit with them Saturday night (dinner at Denny's and swimming at Hotel) and Sunday. My Mimi hasn't been up here since I got married and it was way fun to have them all visit. Kaela is all grown up and Jordan (cousin Brandi's little girl) too. Kaela and Paisley at dinner.
Paisley quite taken with Uncle Tim. He was so great to play with all the kids so much.
Swimming at their Hotel.
Aunt Debbie commented on wanting to make an Altoid tin, so we got busy and I showed everyone how to make them! This is after we were almost all done, so it doesn't justify the mess that we had going. We had lots of different color schemes and modpodging going on. I made the purple one off to the left with the buttons on it for my cousin Brandi. My grandma Mimi even had fun making hers. I was able to show them my quilt I'd been working on and also a Onesie dress that my mom showed me how to make. After she went back to Kortni's house to stay I finished it with all the detail and then made a black and green one. I love the tool underneath it!After we were all out of energy from making Altoid tins and eating lunch we went to the gym about 6 PM where Tim and Debbie and mom finished painting Kortni's new office and then I helped Kaela a little bit with her back handspring. Beck is growing up so fast. It was just a little bit ago that I would have never sent him on the rope swing, but look at the video to see what him and his dad decided that he was big enough to try....So all in all it was a good fun weekend with visiting family and over way to quickly. :) Beck saying goodbye to the real Mimi. (He calls his sitter Tammy "Mimi too)
