look a likes?

These 2 pictures are of Stephen and Beck at about the same ageI thought that it was interesting that Beck only looks 5% more like me than he does Stephen. He's a perfect combo of the both of us. I think that we got a pretty good deal. I can't help but wonder what Paisley will look like. Will she come out with black hair like Beck did and then will it also turn blonde? Will her hair start out curly and then go straight? I wonder how big she will be. My Dr keeps saying that she's not as big as Beck was, but I can only wonder, I sure don't feel any more comfortable! :) I do have more energy. I guess God is nice that way when you have to chase a toddler around as well as be pregnant, instead of just sitting on my bum counting the days (That's a shout out to my sister, Britni, who was on bedrest for 2+ months) We were due at the same time and she had my newest nephew Brockston or Brockton, as of 2:30 there wasn't a decision yet on his name. Anyways, she had him at 1:15 in the morning, the kid will always be like 4 years old or something. (Leap Year) He is 5 lbs 7 oz 19 inches long and a cute little thing.

Needed a change

Thanks to a very caring, understanding and wonderful friend who is also a hairdresser, I got the much needed change that I was looking for. They always say not to cut your hair or make any drastic changes while you are pregnant, but my friend Melanie "gets me" and let me do it anyway. It looks like a pile sheared off from a sheep or two in the springtime, but nope, it's my hair. My twin Jakobi also chopped her hair off a bit ago and now we look even more like Twiners, probably more than we ever have before!

Yep, he's spoiled

Yes, it is true, my son, Beck Nephi is spoiled. Two birthday parties and weeks apart, so really it has been his birthday for about 3 weeks now. These are pictures from his 2nd #2 birthday party in Othello with the Ashton Family, combined with cousin Carsten and Aunt Debbie. He loves to blow out the candles and open presents, and hitting something (pinata) without getting told no? Yes, now on his list of top 10 things to do. Good thing his Uncle Ruben and Aunt Tiffanni got him a bat and ball, now he gets to hit everything with an actual object and not his hand, oh the joys of toddlers. And Beck knows that he's 2 and is taking full advantage of it. I used to think that he hit the "terrible 2's" early, but now that he's actually there, I take it all back, that was nothing. This attitude he has now, well, that's something. Restaurants? Forget it. Sharing, what's that? Cry until I get it? You got it. Make my mom carry me everywhere just because I can, oh yeah. Shake with rage as I pull her hair and then proceed to give her kisses to make it all better, yep, consider it done. What an angel, your love must really grow for the 2nd child because I am exhausted and the thought of doing it all over again frustrates me and excites me all at the same time. :)

We are almost ready for Miss Paisley's arrival, I say almost because really we have all the material stuff, clothes galore, we may buy a double stroller, but as of now, we are ready with all the "goods," and Beck has been prepped in proper baby ettiquette, of course none if it sticks, but we keep up the quizzing and he has his own "baby" panda that he feeds it's "baba" too, but as for emotionally? I just keep thinking, man, I don't want to be pregant anymore. Although I am excited to think about how fast that it has actually gone, but it doesn't mean that (feel free to quit reading here because complaining follows) my back doesn't hurt, my stomach and skin aren't stretched to the max, and I wish, oh how I wish that I could wear that cute shirt I bought 2 months ago at Maurices, but none of that will change for at least 5 more weeks, if it's more I have been lying to myself, so don't read any posts I do that 6th week, or you may not want to be my friend or family member anymore and that would be sad. But ANYWAYS..... We are getting excited and trying to get last minute projects done and keep busy, which Beck has done very well at, man, that little bugger is always thinking of his mom. :)

You make the call...

This is me 7 1/2 months pregnant with Beck in the blue dress and then 7 1/2 months pregnant with Paisley in the pink shirt... I swear I am bigger now than I was with Beck, but this whole time I thought I was bigger with Beck. Sad to say I have gained 34 pounds to date at 33 1/2 weeks. Funny how they only reccommend 25 pounds and I still have 7 weeks to go.... Haha! I laugh about it now until I can't lose the weight. :) Happy counting down to me......

Funnest, Most Bestest Baby Shower Ever!

Really, I am not kidding. My sister, Kortni, and friend, Jenn, along with a little help from others, threw me the best Baby Shower ever last night. We had Mexican food, Mountain Dew, and as you can tell from the video, a Pinata! I had a lot of good friends come and Paisley and I got loaded up!!! Seriously, we got a lot of stuff and it was so exciting. I stayed up past 1 in the morning just going through it and organzing it all, writing thank yous and just oohing and ahhing, by myself, I might add, Stephen had long since hit the sack. Everything was so fun and special and there was so much support! I am very excited for Baby Paisley's arrival to dress her many different times a day in all her new cute clothes, shoes, hair bows, and pretty blankets (one with her name on it!) Way cute burb cloths, diaper essentials, and even a cute necklace just for me! She even got her very first Disney Princess board books. It was fun to see all the cute pink bags and wrapping paper, something different than Lightning McQueen and Thomas trains. I must say that the pinata was the best part and so much fun. There were things inside for me like Q-tips and nursing pads and diapers, and the person who gathered the most won a prize. The video is of my sister Kortni, I am the one handling the rope and I could not stop laughing! Definitely a time to remember. Muchas Gracias to Jenn and Kortni and all the others who helped and came, it really was such a blast!

Beck's favorite person besides his mom and dad...

Beck loves his cousin Alizah. She just turned 4 in December and he is 2, but if he had to pick anyone to hang out with, it would be her. He always asks about her, "wizah, wizah?" and when we say our prayers he blesses her, and usually after he asks about her, he says, "mama?" As far as I know, this 2nd mama is my sister Kortni. When he sees a black SUV he asks about Alizah and this 2nd mama. He loves to follow her around, dance with her, play cars, go in her car with her and his 2nd mama, and can't stand it if she is not going with him when we leave the gymnastics center or her house. He screams, "wizah, wizah!" With big crocodile tears rolling down his cheeks. I wonder if their relationship will always be like this? Two dynamic personalities together = mayhem and smiles for me. :)

Day After Valentine's Day

Happy Day After Valentine's Day and here's a shout out to the 2 men in my life, Stephen Nephi and Beck Nephi. Yesterday was a great Valentine's Day. Beck and I went to play group at Jenica's house and then we went to Othello to pick up Stephen and we all went shopping in Tri-cities. I wanted to pick up some pictures from Costco and Stephen got me a gift card to Target for Vday and it was burning a hole in my wallet, so I went to spend it. Beck was pretty much out of control most of the day and Stephen chased him around a lot and said a lot of, "I'm gonna put you back in the cart if you don't stop running off..." Stephen is pretty good at following through with his "threats," I pretty much suck at it!
My Stephen is the best husband in the world, seriously. Oh yeah, sometimes I want to pull my hair out, but it seems like most husbands are like that. We just went through a great deal of grief (that seems will never go away) but it only confirms to me the love that I have for my husband and my family. Without getting too incredibly mushy, he really is just a great guy that does a wonderful job in taking care of me and our family and I am totally in love with him. Now on to my little monster Beck. Man, what a love bug! He is so much fun and frustrating at the same time, and he makes like so worth while. How I am going to split the love that I have for him with baby Paisley is beyond me, it must just grow. I got Beck 2 Thomas trains for Valentine's Day and Stephen commented on how spoiled I make him, and I know it, he deserves it! I am going to raise spoiled brats! Ahhh! I only get what I deserve from them, but it is so hard not to buy him stuff! I guess it will be better when I have Paisley because then I will run out of money by the end of the month and not be able to buy them so much! This last picture is of Beck at his Parent/Tot Spanish class handing out his Valentine's. This is actually him trying to get Valentine's out of his box once he realized that there was candy attached to some of them.

My Baby is no longer a baby anymore...

We almost went right by Beck's birthday this year. A lot has happened in our lives lately and our minds have been occupied with other things. But we decided to take Beck bowling for his birthday today after a quick trip to the Spokane hospital to see Jacksen's friend, Kris, who was involved in the accident with him. We invited my sister and her girls and my friend Bethany and her family with little Roman bowling with us. Actually I think that it was all Kortni's idea. Anyways it was fun and nice to get out and get our minds occupied with our little Beck. Well, I guess he's not little anymore, he's 2 years old! He got a bunch of presents that he loves. His friend, Roman, gave him a really cool hoodie and some Lego fruit snacks which he couldn't get enough of! Kortni and her family gave him McQueen underwear, which hopefully will come in use soon, a really soft Queen blanket, and a Queen hat, which he wore all the way home and was tempted to sleep in. Not to mention he got Car cards from both Roman and his Nelson girls. We gave him a dump truck, big legos, a magna doodle, and cars from the movie Cars, and a Thomas train. He ripped right through his presents with cousin Piper's help, and was obsessed with his Lightning McQueen candle. He got bored of bowling pretty fast and it took us all about an hour and a half to bowl just one game! He was pretty much running around everywhere, and at one point ran straight down the lane and slipped, no tears though. One more time he ran across the bowling alley right in front of a girl that was letting go of her ball and it missed him by about 6 inches. (Picture an almost 8 month pregnant lady running after him and slipping and falling to her knees right as she was about to nab him) yeah pretty embarrassing.....
Right nowhe loves Lightning McQueen (calls him Queen) and trains. He also is in love his cousin "Wizah" and his "mama" (aunt Kortni) and always asks about them. He likes to carry his Cars and trains around with him everywhere. and as you can tell from the end picture, he has decided that they must sleep with him too! (My friend Kellee gave him McQueen pijamas that he's wearing) All in all I'd say it was a pretty successful party with Beck entering his year #2 on this earth with a bang! Man, I sure do love my little tornado. It's weird how in a month or so, my Baby Beck is going to seem so big and he's going to be a big brother. He is such a mommy's boy and I am such a son's mom, but we're going to have another girl in the house, I hope he learns that he can only wrestle with people bigger than him....

Jacksen Oscar Ashton

Saturday February 2, 2008 my nephew Jacksen was in a car accident and we lost him. He was 16 years old, 17 in April. He is the oldest grandchild and carried lots of responsibility setting a good example and just being a great kid. He loves chips and salsa, movies, music, and carrying around his baby nephews and neices. He was always asking, "is Beck was in a good mood and can I hold him?" Right now it's still not real. Even as we all hang out in silence trying to figure out what happened. It seems like he's just away at a camp or hanging out with friends and at any moment he will walk in followed by a few teenage boys digging around in the pantry for chips and salsa and asking me if I've seen the lastest Spiderman and what I thought of it. I remember when he and I went to see Star Wars III at the midnight showing with his little brother Taryn and some other friends of his. He was so patient with me and my silly questions about that movie and so understanding even if I didn't like a movie that he thought was great, but he would try to convince me otherwise. So here's to my nephew Jacksen; I'm gonna miss you as much as you would miss chips and salsa. Love you buddy.
