Photo overload and catchin up!
Tuesday, June 29, 2010
It was morning, I was in my jammies, kids dressed, their hair done, all in kitchen eating breakfast (and yes, 80% of the time we have cereal for breakfast, I LOVE cereal, I'd eat it for most meals if it was considered a good thing).
Beck "Mom, will you get your morning time clothes on, so that you can look more pretty?"

Free Agency and Discipline
McDonalds facing lawsuit against toys in Happy Meals...
What?!?! Seriously?!?! For the first time ever, I am on the side of McDonalds.... I know, sad, but true. I don't necessarily like McDonalds food. I LOVE their fries, but the hamburgers tastes crappy and but I do usually get their yogurt parfait, that isn't bad. But what ever happened to free agency and discipline? McDonalds isn't pushing this food into our fat bellies... we are pulling into their drive thru and ordering at free will. (Maybe with a few screaming kids in the background vying for the Shrek toy) but seriously, what about discipline? Is it McDonalds fault that you let your kids walk all over you and MAKE you order the Happy Meal because of the Lego car inside? Or the Barbie Princess bracelet? Really?!?! If it is McDonalds fault then you should be ashamed of yourself for letting a huge company like that raise your so called "responsible children" that will grow up into greedy adults. I am not going to lie. My kids get Happy Meals and no, not all the time. Just sometimes and yes, we order fries and sometimes the high fructose fruit cup, but I MAKE THAT CHOICE... NOT MCDONALDS. Sometimes my kids scream and cry if they don't get what they want, or if they don't get the "toy they wanted," and sometimes they could care less, but am I teaching my children anything by blaming someone else for making bad choice for me? Last time I checked I was the one pulling my car in for a $1 Coke...
Next let's sue Wal-Mart for placing toys right at the check out counter when you have been grocery shopping for already over an hour and your kids are tired and hungry and they want those toys that are right there! (This one I am kind of all for!) Then let's sue Toys R' Us for actually selling toys?!?! How could they?!?! Then Home Depot for putting their beautiful BBQ's right outside that they are the first thing you see when you pull up... Then all the wonderfully talented Etsy artists for making such beautiful crafts that I want to buy, then let's sue Old Navy, TJ Maxx for great deals, and all the people that have yard sales... Yeah, let's just sue everyone so that when we get to Heaven we can look God in the eye and say, "yep, I officially blamed everyone else for everything that I did or didn't do, did I pass?"

AIM Flip Flop Finale
So now I can say that summer is really here. The AIM Flip Flop Fun Meet is over. This is at the end of the year where all the gymnasts "compete" for a medal. My Cheer girls performed (minus 4 girls and brand new formations 10 sec before going on and a stunt threw in at the end that was not at all planned) and Beck skipped out on competing in Hot Shots, but did do his break dancing and wants to know why "more people yelled for Jackson's dancing and not mine?!? LOL

The "Geriatric" coaches performed a skit/dance, which we totally think we are so funny and probably so not funny. But that's ok, we're old now, we can pretend we are funny. Well, some of us are old anyways...

Here is the Rat Pack at the gym aka Gym Rats, aka Destroyers of any sort of organized, functional smooth running gym programs... Piper, Jackson, Colin, and Beck. These kids own that place, seriously.
Well, the summer has not really started until we hit the Aquatic Center, maybe we can do that this week while Kortni is in Mexico and we can take the girls too, now doesn't that sound fun?!?! :) Gotta make the Swim pass worth our money...

Catch up...
Thanks to my Grandma Mimi, Ebay, and yard sales (MOSTLY Grandma Mimi) my vintage Tupperware collection is complete! This is maybe 1/4 of it!
My mom and Grandma Mimi came to visit last week from Monday til Thursday when I took them to the airport in Spokane, and it was a busy week. They will probably never come back! My Grandma stayed at my house and it was so fun to chat with her. I also got a chance to videotape an "interview" with her. It is amazing how you think you know a person and it makes me sad that I don't know more. I LOVE to hear stories and memories, wish I made more time for it. I felt like I was "squeezing" it in between McDonalds lunch, shopping, visiting Grandma's cousin, running errands, feeding kids, changing bums, coaching gym, sleeping. Just every day little things and all I wanted to do was sit and listen and ask questions, but the time just kept getting shorter and flying by faster and faster! Thank you Mimi for the opportunity...

We met Grandma Mimi's cousin at the Red Robin in the Tri-cities. We chatted and ate lunch and then shopped til we dropped. Literally, I was dragging my body through Macy's...

On Friday morning I went with my niece, McKenna on her school field trip to the Ropes Course also in the Tri-cities (sometimes it feels like EVERYTHING is there!) This is me hanging upside down learning to "trust" the guy holding me up. Pretty exciting.
McKenna is awesome and so sweet, and such a smartie. They did this "puzzle maze" and everyone kept looking to her for the answers! Thanks McKenna for letting me come and "chaperone!"
Saturday June 5, was the 2nd Annual Jack5 Ride. We met in Naches and rode about 400 miles. Tiffanni, once again, was a major trooper and rode our little "Ninja" most of the time. I had to ride the last 2 1/2 hours and I thought I was gonna die. My hands were numb and my butt was killing me. I sure like to ride, but the long distances are a killer. I don't know how you can drive a bike for more than a day!
We had about 27 bikes and 30+ riders. A good turn out and we met some new people. Raised over $3,000 for the Jacksen O. Ashton Memorial Fund.
And now I am onto to crafting and taking care of kids... We had a busy week and I am still waiting for the slowness of summer to hit. I got 3 quilts back that need binded, but I can't squeeze it in! We have finally had some nice weather the last few days, well, yesterday and today, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and maybe we can get to the pool soon!
