Don't even go there....

Okay, I haven't posted without a picture in a while, but this one is going to be pictureless because I just HAD to vent my frustration and my love/hate relationship with Wal-Mart, bless their heart. There are somedays when I am soooo excited to go, to buy some more yarn for my Knifty Knitter for example, then there are days when I really don't want to go, like when all I need is vegetable oil and Beck is cranky already and we haven't even pulled in the parking lot yet.
Anyways, today was a good Wal-Mart trip day because Stephen was going with us and he always buys lots of things that we don't need and then he realizes that it's a good thing that I do the grocery shopping or else we'd be broke. So he was nice and bought me some yarn and a present for my sister and he got him and Beck some movies and we had a big long receipt, but anyways back to my story. He was checking out and I went out to the pop machines to get a Mountain Dew because they are 28 cents cheaper when you get it from the machine as opposed to getting it when you are in line and I got my pop and opened it while standing right by the machine and it exploded and made a big sticky mess all over the floor.
I went (waddled) over to the lady that gives you a cart (Picture big pregnant me, supposedly "taking it easy" and keeping this baby in a few more weeks) and said (very kindly mind you) "excuse me, my pop from the machine exploded, can I get someone to do a clean up, or help me?" and she says, "there's the mop bucket."
You should've seen my face. Ha! My jaw dropped and my eyes narrowed and of course I went over to the bucket and pushed the heavy sucker all the way back to the machines, all the while praying that my water breaks and I can sue this multi million dollar money stealer of a tyrant corporation, and I mopped up my mess and then went and asked for a wet floor sign. And you want to know the sad thing?
I will still shop there because a) cheaper b) one stop shopping with a toddler and a newborn is a good thing and c) they have the cheapest Mountian Dew 20 oz in town :) (I know that I should clean up my mess anyways without expecting other people to do it for me, but I am a cranky and emotional pregnant lady and this story wouldn't be very amusing if I admitted that at the first)

At least you got some yarn.

And I'm all for cleaning up my own messes but really at this stage you OFFERED to do it yourself?!! Next time this happens (there will be a next time when you are hauling 2 kids around, well you are right now but you get what I mean) all you do is say, 'There is a mess here.' Walk away and then within then next couple days it will get cleaned up!

Another reason you will shop there
d)It's the only store in town! (Sigh, don't you wish we had a Target?)

(this is your little brother)--

I can just imagine this scene...Stephen still standing in line with the rest of the Moses Lake community saying, "honey I can't get out of line or we will lose our spot and the johnsons with their two shopping carts will get in front of us." Meanwhile Beck, frantically running around yelling, Queen! Queen! daddy Queen! wwaaaa! then hobbles over to his mom, "mommy wha doin?"...then Korbi, in her fit of frustration, "not now baby go to your daddy." Then everyone around you thinkin in your heads, "Wow I wish someone would help that poor pregnant lady." I mean they can't help because they are holding their own places in the 10 item or less line, because we all know that this one is the fastest (not true).....HAIL WAL-MART!

(jakobi, your twin...sister)-I would be the one saying, "gosh, she must really want to have that baby!

I'm with ya on the a, b, c, and Melanie's d. Alas, to live in such a shut-in town....
Way to clean up your mess, though! I would have chewed the lady a new one (okay, maybe just in my head, then ranted about it on my blog).
Luv ya!

OH MY GOSH!!! Yes you made a mess, but hello! it's their store. It's their job! That's what they're PAID for. There are just so many things wrong with what happened. I so have decided not to shop at walmart anymore. At least not for groceries. I finally just decided it wasn't worth it, but I totally understand why you would still.

That is definitely a story worthy of a pictureless blog post. Being in the same condition as you I can't believe that that lady said that to you! Last night we went to the basketball game and this nice guy came up to me and gave me a free ticket just because he could get "2" of us in for the price of one (which really helped us out as far as budgeting for date nights this month!). I commented to Randy (my husband) that people have just been so nice to me lately, the perk of being pregnant I thought. Ooohhh...the nerve of that woman! I probably would have started crying right there in front of her. Well, I hope you are feeling better today and have many happy Wal-mart shopping trips in the future! Thanks for the amusing story.

That is wal-mar for you!! I hate it too, but you just can't beat the low prices. I had a friend who stoped going for a month even wrote a complant letter until she got a letter from them saying sorry...

That's NUTS! Next time just run up to the lady and say, "You've got constructive notice!" Then I'll come in, slip on the Dew, and then we can split the settlement money.

Oh my gosh! I just said "constructive notice!" I've learned something in law school!!

WOW, THAT'S A GOOD ONE, TYPICALL FOR WALMART I MIGHT AD, I WISH THEIR EMPLOYEES WOULD BE IN BETTER MOODS AT THE CHECK-OUT LINES, THEY JUST SEEM SO RUDE MOST TIMES. WHAT THEY DID WAS WRONG, AND I WOULD ATLEAST GIVE THE MANAGER A CALL AND LET THEM KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO MAKE A PREGNANT WOMAN MOP THE FLOOR, NOT EVEN HER OWN! O.K. MAYBE HER OWN, BUT WALMARTS, NO WAY! CALL EM, I WOULD. THEY NEED TO KNOW THAT THAT WAS NOT APPROPRIATE, I'LL CALL EM? I LIKE THE PRICES TOO, BUT I SURE HAVE A HARD TIME FINDING ANYONE WHO KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THE FABRIC DEPARTMENT! WHENEVER I HAVE A QUESTION, WHICH IS EVERYTIME I'M IN THE FABRIC SECTION, THE ONLY PERSON THAT MIGHT BE ABLE TO ANSWER MY QUESTION IS AT LUNCH! I EVEN TRY GOING AT DIFFERENT TIME, SHE IS ALWAYS AT LUNCH, HMMM CURSE TO ME. SORRY ABOUT YOUR SPILL!
