Today is my other Grandpa Doodle's birthday! Grandpa Doodle passed away 2 years ago ago, it still seems like yesterday. My Grandpa Beck's funeral is on Tuesday. I went over to his house when we got here on Saturday (we stayed the night in Boise after Paisley vomiting most of the way home and we decided to stay and bring Jake home from the airport) and walked around and smelled his closets and looked at his newspapers on the table. and opened the cereal Wheaties box, well, just because. I can't explain it, yes, I am happy that he isn't suffering anymore, but it is just sad! My Grandpa Beck has always been around. It confuses me that he is gone. I want to cry, but I don't want to cry because I am happy. I know he is in Heaven... heck, if he doesn't get in, no one has a chance!!! It has been fun to read this book that he wrote in for my sister years ago. I had started typing it up a few months back, but then I packed up my desk, so that we could show our house, so it has been fun to get it out again. Well, Grandpa Beck, I miss you and so do a whole lotta other people, but I just want you to know all that good stuff that you did, well, people noticed, and the earth and Cassia County and this family is way better for having had you in it.

Hawaii
Right after this pic I was holding Beck's hand and I slipped almost into a little pool of water, Beck got a little scrap on his knee, and I almost "took him down" as Stephen would say, but I would like to think that I saved him.
My kids were so brave. We would swim out past the rocks, me on my little floaty so that I didn't have to get in and my kids just a swimming away with the fishes and turtles!Paisley's favorite part was playing in the sand.Beck and Paisley out on the balcony of our hotel roomThis is Pais's new face. She loved pushing the buttons in the elevatorOne of our few family pics, this one was at the HotelBesides money, I have no idea why we left....Beck LOVED this ice cream at Bubba Gumps. He was practically eating it in his sleep. The kids did really well with the time change. 3 hours difference. The first night they fell asleep early at 6 and we had to skip dinner, and then they woke up at 3 am wanting to play, but after that they really adapted well.Getting ready to leave and go to the airport. After we got in the Jeep Beck realized that we were leaving and not coming back and he was not too happy about that! We got delayed at the airport in Kona for 2 hours, so we did our best to entertain ourselves.
We had so much fun and the kids loved it! Tony and Mary and their kids, Todd and Dena, and Bob and Ann joined us there. We went to the Big island and loved all the volcanic rock. Beck kept talking about volcanoes the whole time we were there. The kids loved the beach and the "kiddie" pool that was hot like a hot tub, but had a shallow end filled with sand. We played on the beach and swam in the pool pretty much the whole time. We did go for one lone drive one day to do some snorkeling (only Beck and Stephen went) and to see a black sand beach. It feels good to be home, but now Pais has a sinus infection and some major thrush in her mouth and it's back to teaching and coaching and running around all day, so I'm thinking that I have mixed feelings about being home... ;)

Hawaii
We are in Hawaii right now enjoying the sun and the cool breezes (along with sunburns). I was being brave (I am not such a fan of water and I hate fish!) and paddling out a ways into the ocean to look at the sea turtles more closely. My Beck was brave and was swimming in his life jacket and Pais with a floatie was swimming as well with her life jacket with Stephen and I was paddling next to them when I noticed a bumble bee out in the middle of the ocean (okay maybe 30 feet from shore) struggling in the open water and I felt bad for him and tried to get him onto my little board with my paddle, but it wasn't working very well, so I tried to scoop him up to save him from a terrible drowning death and I know he was just protecting himself, but the little booger STUNG ME! I pulled the stinger out and then threw him back in the water. Little booger got what was coming to him..... OUCH!!!!!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!
Today my grandfather is 99 years old! Wow! He has just recently been put in a care center because he was in the hospital for a bit with pneumonia. He wasn't eating and had some sores in his mouth that were painful as well, but now he is doing better and I was able to talk to him on the phone today and wish him a Happy Birthday! I asked him if he felt old yet and he said that he was sure tired! What a great guy and it makes me sad that I don't live closer to the Beck family....

Beck's 1st day at School
You know, sometimes ya gotta put ugly stuff on your counter in a vase just because your kid gave it to you.......Today was Beck's 1st day of school at AIM School and yes, I am his teacher again, so it was my first day too. It was an eventful day because I also had gym and Cheer after school until about 6:30, but we didn't have to start until noon, so it wasn't that bad.... but I will admit that it was pretty tough. Beck cried a lot, but I feel like I have a great class, we only had one accident, but it was like the 1st twenty minutes of class, so that was interesting. My school class went really fast and it was fun, so I am really excited. Gym was a different story. I feel like I didn't get to see Beck too much because he has a different coach and Paisley was in Othello all day with her Aunt Tiffanni (we meet 15 min away for each of us in a town called Warden and I take Ashton to school with me and she takes Pais) so I feel like Paisley was away from us FOREVER!!!! But I can guarantee that she had fun and will probably end up liking her Aunt Tiffanni more than her own mother....

We had a BBQ at our house with Tiffanni and Ruben and their kids and Bethany and Jason and their kids and my sis-in-law Mary and niece Baby Kylie on Saturday and I gave my niece Kylee my camera..... I got TONS of pictures from her! It was a lot of fun and we had some great carne asada, salsa, and some other good eats. The kids had fun running around and we even played a little Rock Band. We also did some beading and Kylee, Beck, and I slept in the tent..... On Saturday Tiff and I went to a few garage sales and also to the Farmer's market. After that we went on a bike ride while Kylee was brave and watched Ashton, Beck, and Paisley, she also got a bunch of fun pictures from that.

I got a new church calling and have been typing up and updating list after list at my computer. Beck is about sick of it and here is one instance:
Beck: "mom, please come and see, I need to show you, mom, please...."
ME: (trying to stall for a few more seconds to finish the list I am working on) "man, I love you so much."
Beck: "Then if you love me, you will come!"
Lesson learned; my son is growing up and getting smarter...
