Memory Lane

Here are the rules:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that we had together. It can be a memory with just Stephen or just with Korbi or with both of us. It doesn't matter if you know us a little or a lot, anything you remember. We would love to hear it!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty fun to see the responses.

oh this is fun! I have lots of memories of stephen, and a few of you, but I will just tell the first two that popped in my head!

first I remember that stephen was taking me home after some sort of activity, you were with him too, and we all wanted to go bowling and we only had sandles on, so we stopped at your house to get us both socks. Weird that I remember that, but whatever!

I remember going fourwheeling with stephen and craig stark out at the sand dunes. it was actually the day that we found out my Grandma had died and my family had flown back to michigan but I stayed home with my younger brothers and took the day off of work, and for some reason stephen found out or called or something and we went four wheeling at the dunes. I also got my parents van stuck and they had to pull me out!

My favorite memory is watching LOST at our house when you were HUGELY pregnant with Beck and you jumped straight up in your chair, let out a scream and stood there in the chair holding your chest, breathing hard. I thought your water broke, but no, no, it was a spider. It's a good thing we have tivo.

I remember in Guatemala, Korbi and I would go to the market and pretend to be a married couple... we'd get in fake arguments with each other in front of the salespeople over whether we should be spending money on a particular item, such as a blanked or wooden statue. The salespeople would be so confused over what to do that they would drive the price way, way down. NICE!

Even though you stole this idea from me, without posting a comment on my blog, I'll comment...
I remember typing up the Relief Society Directory, and being amazed at all the places you've been, and the cool names your siblings have!

Korbi...I remember thinking you were such a sweet and fun person from the second I met you! The first day we ever met we were on a triple date - you and Stephen, Lena and Kevin, and Jason and I. It was my birthday and you insisted on calling me "birthday girl" the entire date, and for the remainder of the summer I was known as "birthday girl" by you. I thought it was hilarious and remember thinking that I hoped we would be friends because you were so much fun!

Stephen - I met way back in the days of BYU singlehood....he was part of the othello gang and I thought he was really nice and fun from the minute I met him. He was kinda a ladies man back then - glad Korbi got him!... and I remember he had a gigantic TV and we watched a few movies at his apartment. We also went camping, and he and Jason had to rig the tirespikes at the entrance to the campground so we didn't get our tires slashed...not quite sure it was legal at the time, but the guys swore they paid the grounds fee! haha :)

Yeah I love things like this!

Korbi-

I know I've probably mentioned it before, but My fondest memory of you Korbi was when you came to my half-Birthday party and you brought me a gift (You where the only one) black and white film and a really cute card and we had barely just met and I remember thinking This Korbi girl is the nicest ever! I hope we remain friends for a while! Then I used that film you gave me at your surprise 21st birthday party at Steve's I still have a copy of you taking a shot of Mountain Dew! I know it didn't take anyone in the ward a long time to fall in love with you, you're one of those people you just can't hate! I also remember James Baker starting to say Bless Their Heart after he made fun of someone because you said that makes it ok! So now when ever anyone says that I always think of you!

Steve- I just remember the ladies being significantly more depressed because once Steve snatched up Korbi some girls didn't have anybody to flirt with!

That time in Singles ward which I often referre to as the Steve Ashton Era has never been surpassed in awesomeness for me!

You two hold a special place in my heart always because even though it was a short amount of time I got to know you, your caring and charismatic personalities made a huge impression on me! I really love that we continue to run into each other and communicate via blog because it always makes my heart happy!

Could this comment be any longer?

The one that STANDS out the most is when I was rinsing the blue dye the first time and your WHOLE head was blue. Yeah, let's just say that my heart was about to jump out of my chest. I'm SO glad you still talk to me, ha ha. So many memories, even a couple more that involve blue hair!

The first thing that popped into my head was when I chipped your tooth!
But I also remember plenty of good ones like playing Clue and Guess Who!

I always remember the first time I met both of you. I met Stephen for the first time at his mission homecoming and you at the old cabin. I remember thinking I thought you were SO cute! I was hoping Stephen would propose and he did!

I remember meeting you in the mothers lounge for the first time and you were so easy to talk to. I thought, "What a cute, young mom."

I have lots of fun memories with you and watching you and loving your energy and happy spirit! I remember though we first met you and were having a heart to heart with Stephen about you and I said "she is so adorable and sweet, you should marry her" and he said well I don't know if she is old enough and ready for that. Scott said "dude thats perfect, you want them young and dumb" Bless his heart, thats what you say right? :)

Korbi--I can think of so many from Toga singing to back rubs to hanging out at your house but since I am in California right now, and I went to Anaheim for an Angels game on Tuesday...Disneyland! I can't really remember the competition but I remember California Adventure and the Dodgers game and of course Krispy Kreme. It was such a fun time! Hope you are doing well! John
