Papa Doodle

Happy Birthday Papa Doodle, I miss you and your smiling face sitting in your chair and shuffling around to get your coat to go eat at Price's Cafe. I miss your "talking" car... "A Door is ajar..." I miss your lifesavers and eggs made in the microwave and the way that you teased Grandma, we know that you knew what was up, the sparkle in your eye gave it away.
I love how cool it is to tell people that you were a saddle bronc rider. And I am glad I have this last picture of us taken during Thanksgiving before you passed the following January 11, 2007.
See you later, it will be good to see you in Heaven, save us a spot.....

It's funny how my kids will always think of him as Doodle - we never got used to the name Papa. Katelin was actually due on his birthday but came 2 days early so I always get her birthday wrong.
